Much of our focus during the month of February is centered on February 14th ~ a day dedicated to the expression of love and romanticism.  Certain notions and expectations of this highly hyped day have been embedded into society through popular culture.  Romantic gestures of cards, candy, flowers, and intimate dinner reservations consume us.  It’s the holiday of love – most of which is focused externally.  Maybe, just maybe, we should pause to consider the words of the late Felice Leonardo “Leo” Buscaglia PhD, who was also known as “Dr. Love,” an American author and motivational speaker, and a professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Southern California . . .

“One cannot give what he does not possess. To give love you must possess love. To love others you must love yourself.”
